How
old do you have to be to on all-stars?
Children
can start as young as 5 years old if they can follow directions and stay
focused for an hour or more of instruction time. You can be as
young as 3 years old for our tumble classes.
What
is the cost for tryouts? How much is All-stars?
Currently,
All-star tuition is $90.00 a month and is due by the 10th of each month.
This includes 1 All-star practice and 1 tumble class per week. There is
a $45.00 registration free, which is non-refundable and is due at tryouts or
initial sign-up.
What
time are classes held?
Classes
are set depending upon enrollment and team assignment. Most
classes are after school or on weeknights with occasional weekend practice
times during competition season or camps.
Does
everyone make a team? How is my child placed on a team?
The
purpose of tryouts is to clearly register and enroll in cheerleading for the
2008-2009 season. In addition, schedules will be provided to let each all-star
know which tumble classes based on skill level is recommended for the month of
May. Teams will be announced in early June based on preliminary tryouts and
class performance during May, and an additional June final tryout (which will
be scheduled during the course of the regular work week.) Routine
and Choreography Camp will be in the summer as well as special tumble camps.

What
if my child misses a practice?
We ask that if you are unable to
make a practice, especially during competition season, that you make every
effort to contact the gym and let us know of the absence. All-star
cheerleading is a team sport and the team's performance depends upon you being
there. Tuition will not be reimbursed for
missed classes unless there is a serious medical reason and a note from your
physician. If you start in the middle of the month, the
tuition is pro-rated.
Is
there a lot of travel?
Most travel is to local regional
competitions in North Carolina, and 2 National competitions. Over
the years we have traveled to Tennessee, South Carolina, and Georgia for our
Nationals.
Do
you do fundraisers to offset costs?
Yes we have an active Booster club
that is a 501-3-C with all donations being tax deductible. In
past seasons, the Boosters have raised funds via golf tournaments, raffles,
sponsorships and BBQ chicken dinners. They have paid or
partially paid for make-up, tumble clinics, t-shirts and end of year awards
banquet.
